Return & Refund Policy – The Baking Mum

Thank you for supporting The Baking Mum! Every order is handmade with care, and we always aim to make sure you love what you receive. Because our products are perishable and often personalised, please take a moment to read how our refund and cancellation process works before placing your order.
1 · General Policy
All orders are baked to order using fresh ingredients.
Once payment is confirmed, your order is considered final.
We do not offer refunds for change of mind or after products have been prepared, shipped, or delivered.
2 · Cancellations
We understand that plans can change, and we’ll always do our best to be fair.
a. Cancellations with 7 days or more notice.
If you contact us at least 7 days before your scheduled delivery or shipping date, you will receive a full refund to your original payment method.
b. Cancellations within 7 days of delivery/shipping
If less than 7 days’ notice is provided, a 50 % cancellation fee applies.
The remaining 50 % will be issued as store credit, valid for 1 year from the cancellation date.
This policy exists because, by that point, we have already:
- Reserved your production slot and declined other orders;
- Purchased and prepared ingredients;
- Begun staff scheduling and pre-production work;
- Possibly started on your personalised items.
As a small business, these are real costs we can’t recover once preparation begins. The 50 % retained covers those committed costs, while the 50 % store credit is our gesture of goodwill.
3 · After Dispatch or Delivery
Once an order has been baked, shipped, or delivered, no cancellations, refunds, or credits are possible.
Please ensure all delivery details are correct before confirming your order.
4 · Damaged or Incorrect Orders
We pack our brownies and cakes with out most care, once they leave our premises we are not liable for may damage or inconvenience caused.
5 · Returns & Exchanges
Due to the perishable and often personalised nature of our products, we cannot accept returns or exchanges.
6 · Store Credit
Store credit is issued as a digital code via email and is valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
It can be used toward any future purchase on our website and must be redeemed in a single transaction.
7 · Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
If a product is proven to be faulty, damaged, or not as described, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund as required by law.
At The Baking Mum, all our cakes and brownies are made to order with care. Because of the perishable and personalised nature of our products, we cannot accept returns once an order has been collected or delivered. Please read our policy carefully before placing your order.
