Welcome to The Baking Mum website (www.thebakingmum.com.au).
By placing an order or using this site, you agree to the following terms.

1 · About Our Business
The Baking Mum is a small Melbourne-based business specialising in Signature Cakes and Brownies.
All products are handmade in small batches using halal ingredients.
2 · Ordering
- Orders are accepted through our website only.
- Once payment is confirmed, your order is final.
- Local delivery orders close 6 p.m. for next day deilvery.
- Local deliveries are made Monday to Sunday between 10 a.m.–3 p.m. within Wyndham Council, VIC.
- If you do not live within Wyndham City Council area and would like to order, please send us an email at hello@thebakingmum.com.au to organise a scheduled Pickup. *subject to availability
- Talking Brownies can be ordered any time and are shipped within 24–48 hours (Monday to Thursday). Orders after Thursday ship Monday.
3 · Cancellations & Refunds
We understand plans can change, and we’ll always do our best to be fair.
- 7 days or more notice → Full refund.
- Less than 7 days notice → 50 % cancellation fee retained; remaining 50 % issued as store credit (valid 1 year).
Because each bake is freshly prepared, a confirmed order means we’ve already:
- Reserved a production slot,
- Scheduled staff time,
- Purchased ingredients, and
- Begun pre-production for your personalised items.
As a small business, we can’t refill that slot on short notice.
The 50 % kept simply covers those real costs, and the 50 % credit is our gesture of goodwill.
Once your order has been baked, shipped, or delivered, no refunds or cancellations are possible.
4 · Returns & Exchanges
Due to the perishable and often personalised nature of our products, we cannot accept returns or exchanges.
Refunds are not available for change of mind.
If there is an issue with your order, please email us within 24 hours of delivery so we can review it promptly.
5 · Delivery & Shipping
- Talking Brownies are sent Australia-wide via Express Post and shrink-wrapped for freshness.
- Local deliveries are handled directly by us within 15 km of Point Cook.
- We are not responsible for delays, loss, or damage once a parcel is lodged with Australia Post or delivered to your address.
- For local delivereies, please ensure someone is available to receive your order; if no one is home, it may be left in a safe place at your risk or taken back for redelivery later (charges apply).
6 · Dietary Notes
All our products are made using halal friendly ingredients. We make gluten-free products with out most care to avoid cross contamination where possible.
However, our kitchen handles gluten, dairy and nuts; so there may be traces. Customers with severe allergies should exercise caution before ordering.
7 · Product Variations
All bakes are handmade, so minor differences in appearance or colour may occur. These variations are normal and part of the handcrafted nature of our products and are not considered as defects.
8 · Liability
Once products leave our premises or are handed to Australia Post, responsibility transfers to the customer.
We cannot be held liable for:
- Postal delays or handling damage outside our control,
- Incorrect addresses provided by the customer, or
- Storage/refrigeration issues after delivery.
9 · Privacy
Your use of this website is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your information.
10 · Dispute Resolution
If you have any concerns, please contact us in writing first so we can work toward a fair solution.
Unresolved disputes will be handled under Australian Consumer Law.
11 · Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
Any disputes shall be heard in the courts of Victoria.
12 · Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time.
Continued use of our website after changes are published means you accept the updated Terms.
